The 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games Open is the largest fitness competition on Earth and an exciting showcase of the CrossFit community. Here, athletes like you, from all around the world, show up and push themselves further than they ever thought possible over a five-week period. At Cascade Crossfit of course! 

Like we have in previous years, you are invited to participate in our intra-gym competition whether or not you plan to formally sign up for the Open.  When you enter your first Open Score Via WODIFY at our first event on 2/23, you will be automatically signed up. Whether you've been doing CrossFit for 1 day or 10 years, this will be fun no matter what!!

Are you Traveling during the Open?  NO PROBLEM!! Participate at any of the 15,000+ CrossFit® affiliates worldwide or in any gym, garage, park or flat space where you can bring your gear and a camera.  We will also be welcoming visitors from other gyms so they can perform their open workout at an official CrossFit Affiliate. You can reserve your spot in advance by purchasing a drop in class HERE.

The First Open WOD of 2019 is announced Feb. 21, which kicks off five weeks of Open workouts.

At Cascade, we will be running the open workout every Saturday over the course of 5 weeks, beginning on Feb. 23rd, with the last event being March 23rd.  All participants will be required to sign up in advance for their session via Wodify.  "The Session" includes a warm-up, briefing, and the week's Open workout as announced by CrossFit HQ. 
These sessions will be held in waves starting every 30 minutes, beginning at 8:30am, with the last wave beginning at 11:30am. Show up for your reserved session EARLY OR ON TIME to get in your Warm-up and Open Workout.

CrossFit Judges and Participants: You can expect to be at the gym for about 60 minutes (or however long you like!) since each heat will be expected to stay, support, and Judge the heat after them. … & don’t worry, there will be plenty of post-workout food and drinks available, so you will not go hungry!

Spectators are welcome and encouraged!  Come get in your workout and stick around for some snacks & beverages brought to you by our generous local sponsors while you cheer on your local gym friends!  Bring friends, family, significant others, and show them what your capable of!

Session RSVP: This is outside of what we typically do for classes, but it is to ensure our sessions run as smooth & organized as possible so that everyone has a positive experience.  Sessions will be capped at 12 people (or less, depending on the WOD), so sign up in advance!  You can reserve your spot up to 1 week before the session via the Wodify App or on your computer.  View the online schedule here and Sign up for your spot ASAP!

Our regularly scheduled "team workouts" will be programmed for SUNDAYS during these 5 weeks, so you can still come in and work out with your gym buddies.  After March 23rd, we will resume to our normal 9/10am Saturday schedule.

Volunteers & Help Requested 

We'd love to have as many judges, helpers, and vendor sponsors for each of the 5 Saturday events!!

VENDOR SPONSORS: Email Hannah to see how you can promote your business at Cascade CrossFit during one of the Saturday events! 
Cost: bring in your signage, business cards, some beverages and snacks for the event!  Coffee/ Donuts/ a big sandwich/ champagne acceptable.  This would be great exposure if you are a local realtor, insurance agent, photographer, etc!

KIDS ROOM HELP: Generally Amanda D. is in the Kid's room from 9-10am, and that won't change, BUT I'd love to get some volunteers to help cover 8:30 - 9am and 10 - 12:15am in shifts, so that everyone has a chance to get their workout in and have their kids supervised.  If you'd like to help out, contact Hannah at!

JUDGES: If you are signing up for the CrossFit Open, you might as well take the Judge's Course and become an OFFICIAL CrossFit Sanctioned Judge!  The cost is $10, and if you send Hannah your official certificate, you will get a $10 credit toward your Feb or March Membership for passing the course!  This is useful because it familiarizes you with the official CrossFit movement standards, and gives you authority to "no rep" the crap out of people.
