We opened in December 2009, with not much equipment, and just our friends coming to workout since CrossFit was still not well known.
We have worked hard over that time to grow, learn, and share our passion of crossfit and fitness and health with those who walk through our doors. It’s our passion to help our students learn new things, achieve unimaginable goals, and find a community where they can have fun, get an awesome workout, and grasp new knowledge that will expand to many areas of your life. We have learned, in the time since we have been open, what our clients appreciate the most about Cascade, and will always make that our top priority. We have always heard feedback that our community is what is most loved about Cascade. That is just an example of how this is not only a place to get a great workout, but it really is a place where you are going to meet new friends, have fun, and see how it positively affects you not only in your fitness, but in your life.
We are also extremely proud of the level of some of our athletes at our gym. For the last several years, we have had a team at the CrossFit Northwest Regionals who have always placed in the top 10. Each and every year, several of our athletes are working especially hard to compete either in the CrossFit Open in hopes of making it to Regionals, or just to do their best at a local CrossFit competition. If a competitive group is what you are looking for, we definitely have some incredible athletes you can work alongside. If you don’t find yourself extremely competitive, but just want to have a great workout program…awesome! That is, honestly, most of our clients. That is what is loved so much about Cascade, that no matter where you’re at, we all have a great time together!
How we program our classes…
Since opening in December of 2009, we have adapted our programming to fit what we feel is best to help meet our clients needs and goals. A huge factor in our programming is preventing members from injury. It’s no secret that CrossFit has been heard of as something that can hurt you. This is definitely true if not approached properly. With that, we make tough workouts, but also do not often put in exercises that are easy to cause injury. We also don’t believe in programming crazy heavy amounts of weights and reps to make a workout that is going to take you 45 minutes. Although some of our students love this some times (and we have a place for some of these workouts!) the truth is, that workouts that our high in intensity for such a long period of time, do more harm than good. With that, we utilize the whole hour of class to warm up, mobilize, perform strength or skill work, and a workout that will be sure to get your butt kicked. For those who are looking to really compete in CrossFit, just chat with us!
